Frontier: a public project to mine asteroids and build beyond Earth
Frontier is a community-funded, long-horizon programme to make asteroid mining real and to lay the groundwork for a permanent human presence on Mars and, eventually, Titan. It is built in public: every number on this page can be checked on the blockchain or on the website.
What exists today
This is not a pitch for something to be built later. The foundation is already live and verifiable.

The opportunity
- Asteroid resources are the first real step off Earth. Near-Earth asteroids hold water, metals and building material already outside Earth's gravity well. Using them is what makes everything after, from orbital industry to a Mars outpost, affordable.
- The field is early and under-capitalised. A handful of startups and agencies are working on prospecting. There is no public, community-owned participant, and no open body of prospecting research. Frontier intends to be both.
- The total build is large. We estimate the full mission infrastructure at around $900 billion over decades. No single fund gets there alone. The community is the seed and the accountability layer; governments and industry are the scale.
How the project is run
- 90% of all funds to mission work, 10% to operations. Fixed, published, applied to every contribution.
- Every outgoing payment is listed with a receipt on the public ledger. If it is not on the ledger, it did not happen.
- 1% of funds after the $10M milestone goes to people living in poverty, each donation filmed and published.
- Every contributor is named. The people who fund this are part of the record.
Roadmap
- Now. Token, treasury, lock-ups and website live. Legal structure for contributions in progress.
- First funded work. An open-access asteroid prospecting study with a university partner: target selection, mission concept, cost model. The first thing we publish that an investor or agency can evaluate.
- $1M. Investor conversations begin with a published study in hand.
- $10M. Formal dialogue with governments and space agencies. The 1% pledge activates.
- Beyond. First flight hardware with an established partner; the Frontier chain, our own blockchain for mission data, once the community can run it.
Who is behind it
Karan Chaudhary, founder. B.Tech engineering graduate based in New Zealand. Space has been his curiosity for as long as he can remember; Frontier is his attempt to do something astonishing with it. He builds in public, publishes every number, and answers to the community that funds the mission.
Risks, stated plainly
- The mission goals span decades and depend on technology, funding and partnerships that do not yet exist.
- The project is pre-revenue and at the very beginning of fundraising.
- FRNT is a participation token. It is not equity, carries no profit entitlement, and may hold no monetary value. Any investment is structured separately, through a legal entity, with counsel.
What we are looking for
Investors and partners who want to be part of a mission that outlasts them: early capital for the first prospecting study, introductions to university and agency partners, and advisors with space-industry experience. Investment is structured through a legal entity with proper agreements, not through the token.
